About SpineAbilene
At last, A Nonsurgical Approach To Back & Neck Pain

SpineAbilene Physicians

Four out of five Americans will have an attack of back pain during their lifetimes. Many people are doomed to a lifetime of endless visits to the back doctor. That's because once you have your first back pain attack, you are four times as likely to have a recurrence. If you have back or neck pain, we are now in a position to help you kick the habit. SpineAbilene acts as a regional referral center for back and neck problems, receiving cases across the West Texas region.

What makes this spine center unique is its emphasis on a nonsurgical approach to back and neck problems. The spine center, for example, is directed by specialists in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, also called physiatrists. These physicians have advanced training in back and neck pain, and often are successful in helping people return to activity — without surgery.

Physical Therapy

At the same time, if your back or neck problem requires surgery, SpineAbilene has a consulting spine surgeon who already receive the area's surgical cases. These cases include herniated discs, spinal fractures, spinal deformity, spinal tumor and scoliosis. This fellowship-trained spine surgeon uses advanced instrumentation and spine surgery techniques.

Said another way, SpineAbilene is able to take care of any type of back or neck problem, from the simple back or neck strain all the way to complex spine surgery, involving surgical instrumentation.

SpineAbilene is a multidisciplinary regional spine center and is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). It includes physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians dedicated to nonsurgical management of spine and joint problems, along with consulting spine surgeons who are fellowship-trained in spine. It provides physical therapy, an injection suite and X-ray capabilities all under one roof. We provide all the necessary diagnostic testing and non-operative treatment in one place, eliminating the need for multiple referrals, delayed care and confusion.

Medical care at SpineAbilene is directed by three board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation specialists, who focus on the nonsurgical care of musculoskeletal disorders. On-site diagnostic testing includes X-ray, EMG-NCS and DEXA (bone density) scans. Treatment areas include physical therapy and a certified ambulatory surgical center for spinal injections under fluoroscopic guidance.
